Model 1897 Riot (ORIGINAL) 20" barrel - 1924 - SN-736171  --  $750.00

An Original, 93 year old 1897 Winchester 'RIOT' Shotgun... she has seen much USE! 

But Extremely well cared for:  Most Bluing is Gone.. NO major pitting and NO Cracks or Splitting of the Wood.  The 'Bore' has a PERFECT, Mirror Finish'!

There are only two minor 'flaws/damage': One is shown above, on the left side, where a 'brain dead' gripped the barrel, for some reason, with a 'Vise-Grip', OR?  I shall be adding a picture of the right side... even less 'damage'. The second 'flaw' is a small 3/4" chip on the Butt Stock, at the butt plate, on the right side... Pic coming soon!

'Born'... 1924!  Al Capone was only 25 years Old !!  The '1929 Saint Valentine's Day Massacre' victims were 'Machine-Gunned and SHOT-GUNNED'... MAYBE?

Closer view of the 'Vise-Grip' damage... but more importantly... the 'Barrel Choke' shown as... CYL - as were all RIOT Shotguns.

The barrel lenth is 20", as it should be... and obviously, it has never been 'Cut'... bearing the Original 'BEAD'!

Even the Butt Plate is ORIGINAL... but Extremely well WORN !!  Comparing the 'mint' plate from my  Model 1911 on the left... to the 1897 on the right, you can see the faint image of the original WRA mark!   And below... these images are enlarged... to where you actually can still see some of the old 'Checkering'!

                  This is a difficult Winchester to 'Let Go'... it is SO ORIGINAL, and extremely 'COOL'!!  Unlike my other Winchesters... that I am selling because I have purchased a 'Nicer, More Collectable' ONE!  This one does Not really fit into my 'Classic Winchester' collection... I think... but maybe it DOES!?!?
