In 1961, Winchester introduced the "Versalite" choke tube and became the , 'WinLite' !  Which I also shall have ONE for sale... I shall keep ONE of !

The Model 59 was made from 1960 to 1965... But NO record of the Serial Number dates exist! Only a little over 85000 were made... making this one, numbered 4970... Definitely in the first 'Days / Weeks' of Production!  Making it 57 years old!  And... It Is 'AS NEW'... with only 'Handing Marks'... and fired(?) only a Few times.

It was a revolutionary design, not seen again until many years later!  It had the Model 50's 'Non-Recoiling' barrel, but NOW with an 'Alloy' Receiver and Trigger Guard ...  BUT the most Unique feature was the BARREL! It is ultra light-weight; made from a metal tube that was wrapped in over 500 miles of fiber thread that was fused and bonded. This process is similar to the carbon-fiber barrels that are increasingly popular on rifles of Today... over 50 years later !!
