NOS ???? After nearly 60 Years??? But there are NO marks from Bolts / Washers / Etc Anywhere!!
NO Wear / Marks on the Throw-Out Bearing Fork !!
NO OIL or GREASE residue ANYWHERE !!!!
The 'Shift Cover' - Smaller and Very Different Bolt Pattern from the 'Late' EARLY (Mounts on Case) Pre-A Transaxle !
AGAIN... NOS ??? - NO Indication of ever having been exposed to Transmission Grease / Oil
Closer view of Case ' Interior '... SUPER CLEAN !! Also, the ' Bearing ' Shells appear to have Never been ' Utilized ' !!
'Carrier' Bearing moves... but NO GOOD... Why it is there, and the Other isn't... ????????
The Following are pictures of the ' Shift Rods ' in various positions... Moved FREELY, with ABSOLUTELY NO Binding!!
Reverse Gear(s) show NO Wear...
' Detent ' Balls work Perfectly !!
After NEARLY 60 YEARS... The ' Shift Rods ' ONLY have Surface Rust on the exposed shafts...
EVERYWHERE the ' Rods ' were ' Protected ' ... Just SUPER Shiny STEEL !!!
THIS is GUARANTEED !!!!
AGAIN NOS ??? !!! NO Apparent Wear from the ' Axle Tubes ' !!
Nor do these Threads appear to have EVERY Been USED !!!
JUST PERFECT... and of course, moves Freely!!
And LASTLY... the ONLY Numbers on the Case...
I 'Searched' the Internet and compared this to early VW Cases... NOT EVEN CLOSE !!!!
It is, however, ALMOST the same as the ALL Early 356 Pre-A Transaxles I found... Including the one I have currently listed on eBay.
OVER-ALL CONDITION... EXCELLENT for its Age: There is Surface oxidation... But NO Significant Corrosion !!
Again... Guaranteed !!
